Heel Work to Music

Weekly Thursday classes. Manukau Members can attend as part of standard training fees.

Class 1

Class 1 is held from 6:15pm until 7:15pm and is open to all dogs (and their handlers) from any club. The only pre-requisite is that you and your dog have reached a reasonable standard of heel work ~ After all you want to spend your time learning the “moves” and not just ‘heel’, ‘heel’ and ‘heel’ :o)

This class is for anyone who is interested in learning tricks to enhance the relationship between dog and handler (remember at this level there is no requirement to compete folks its all about having fun) AND its for those that like the idea of competing in heel work to music but need to develop tricks and moves before developing a routine.

This 10 week course will cost *$40 for any non-MDTC member, (paid at the beginning of the course). At the end of completing the 10 weeks you may continue on a nightly basis at *$4 a night. Make up nights will be available for those that cannot commit to 10 weeks in a row.

Class 2

Class 2 is being held from 7:15pm until 8:15pm and is the class for the ones who think they would like to give it a go ! It’s open to dogs and handlers who have developed moves and tricks and need support putting routines together. However, progression into this class is not automatic and is dependant on reaching the required standard. As noted under Class 1, you may continue in the first class until ready to move on to the more advanced class.

At this level we envisage being able to provide practice opportunities at displays, rest homes etc., to assist you on your way into your first competition.

Fees for this class are *$4 per night for non-MDTC members.
